What's Involved?

1

Radiographs and Analysis

Often times the cause of tooth discomfort can't be seen externally. A simple radiograph can take an image of the interior of the tooth and the surrounding bone structure. Also checking the position of how the teeth are coming together can help determine if there is an issue with the alignment. The other test that may be run is determining if there is a thermal sensitivity to the tooth, which helps determine is there is any hypersensitivity occurring as well.

2

Treatment, Referral, or Future Scheduling

Depending on what is happening to the teeth, there may be a need to immediately treat the tooth or refer the situation to a specialist. If the cause of the discomfort is not greatly concerning and timing is limited, it may be in the best interest to schedule a future appointment to return for further assessment or treatment.
